Caroline - Director Cycle 1 Sunflower
Personal Background: I was born and raised in Dublin Ireland. In 1998 I decided to go to Jersey (Channel Islands) for the summer with some friends and ended up staying longer and meeting my partner who was born in Perth. Over the next few years we travelled to different places including Africa, America, Mexico, and south east Asia before deciding to settle down in Perth
Education and Work Experience: When I completed high school I was still unsure about which direction I should take and was offered a job as assistant teacher at Mount Anville Montessori school, it was here that I was introduced to the Montessori way of teaching which encouraged me to undertake further study. In 2001 I began working at Perth Montessori school teaching in Hibiscus house. As the numbers grew a position became available for a full time director to set up and start a new children’s house. I was overjoyed to have the opportunity to take on this new challenge.
Philosophy of Teaching: Presently I am team teaching in Sunflower and have great pleasure in watching children grow, become independent thinkers and develop a love of learning.
