Major DevelopmentsPerth Montessori School is in a very exciting and challenging period as we undertake a number of significant developments. New Building We have expanded the physical campus of the School through the acquisition of a substantial adjoining property at 150 Burswood Road. The new premises' provides room for our expanding curriculum. It has allowed a more professional environment to be created for our administrative functions, and will allow for significant improvements in facilities for all at the school. With the assistance of many able and willing volunteers drawn from the School community we are currently working with the Town of Victoria Park (ToVP) and others to complete the planning process. This will allow us to transform the building and to create 2 new classroom environments within the new premises in an area previously use as an "assembly area". This will lead to consequential changes to the use of the existing school buildings. The School hopes to have the application determined sometime in September 2006 and to move the first class into the new building as soon as possible after approval is granted. |  |
High SchoolOur second major initiative is the start of a High School operation to complement the existing pre-primary and primary school services offered by the School. In September 2005 we obtained "advanced determination" from the Department of Education and Training for the proposed extension of our educational program to include High School operations. this determination has allowed us to start in earnest the planning and other activities necessary in order to firstly apply for formal registration of the High School and secondly commence the educational program in 2007.
